Get Your Motor Runnin

August2

So here’s my first non-missions/non-Uganda/non-significant post. For those who might not know, I’ve been building a 1966 Chevrolet Nova for about the last 18 months. A long process indeed, but I’ve had a lot of fun. Sunday night a long awaited event occurred, the engine cranked over and started for the first time! There’s a long list of things that still need to be done, but hopefully it will be on the road soon. I’m shooting to head out on the highway, as it were, by the beginning of September. So who wants a ride? Who wants to help me in the garage?

I’ll definitely help you in the garage. You sure could use some of my expertise.

    Good job, AP. Sweet ride.

Thought you’d never ask…let me just grab my overalls here…yep, ready to wow the Nova with my sweet skills. Holly & I actually have a cable access show about restoring vintage cars. Maybe we’ll feature you next month.

    A.P.
allow me to express my incredible admiration for your project.
I would have loved to be a part of this build, as I myself have long been thinking of bringing a 72 Chevelle back to life…but alas, I don’t think it will happen as soon as I would like.
You should devote a post/gallery to the progress of the car over the last 18 months. I’d like to see more.

Finally a really significant post… I’ve been praying for this project for months now! (I’m am so just kidding, please don’t hate me).
AP that air cleaner is new and shiny and I like it… your car will be on the road soon I just know it.
Your readers should also know that you talked me into acting on a longtime dream of mine a couple years ago – buying an old truck – then proceeded to “help” me fix it up (read: couldn’t have done it without him, I flail at mechanical stuff). Thanks AP.

That’s depressing. I never finished my 55′ 2-door post chevy. Sold it actually, about 18 months ago.

I was thinking that as soon as I can justify it I will purchase a 66 Nova. You need to take me for a ride in this baby Adam.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Kendrick, good idea, I think I’ll start working on that page. My new goal is to have the Nova able to drive to a car show on September 9th.
