Dr. Powell?
I got to have lunch with one of my professors yesterday, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I decided to go off the diet for an hour because he wanted to take me to his favorite Italian place. I forgot how good pizza tastes. Anyway, we talked about a lot of different things, and he was very encouraging about my direction in ministry and my path within the ed department. In the middle of our lunch, he brought up something that I hadn’t really thought about before. He told me that DTS has a partnership with the University of North Texas where you can get an EdD or PhD in conjunction with the seminary MA. He said I should look into it, because a doctorate from a secular school could open up a lot of opportunities in a foreign country. So how bout it internet friends, can you see a Dr. Powell? Just the thought of it kind of freaks me out.
Huh. All this time I just assumed you were already a Ph.D. Yeah, go for it, you might as well make it official.
So that would be pretty cool if we both had Ph.D.s we’d have to make some changes though…
Newbigin instead of Driscoll
La Madeline instead of Buffalo Wild Wings
Monocle instead of Glasses
Pipes instead of Cigars
WOW!!! What would that make me…the Queen Mother or something???
Um, yes I think you should become a doctor because 1) it will help you to win friends (foreign ones) and influence people (again, foreign ones), and b) I have a lot of medical problems and it would be really sweet if I didn’t have to pay to go to the doctor all the time.
Dude if you go and get a Dr. that means I’m gonna have to get one. There ain’t no way I’m going to let myself be the only “Mr.” in the crew.
I wonder if University of Pheonix offers anything related to coffee beverage production and sales…
do it, dr. rosen
Yes. I can see it.
I can see it–it would sit well, I think. Although, sitting here in the middle of the Dissertation doldrums, I have to say, “Think twice–be sure!” I’m just doing it cause it is the easiest way to get rid of the Ms. or Miss problem. . . Blessings on your studies.
Do IT. I am thinking of grad school myself.
Dr. Powell huh? I’m all for you pursuing a PhD, just don’t teach accounting, or Business Stats and I think you’ll be ok.
